Two stories — An unforgettable night, I touched my own future

I dated her (writing), then I couldn’t stop. This is the most romantic, exciting, and powerful story I have ever lived.

A certain day, My little son woke up at around 1 am so we went to the bathroom, and then I was not able to get a good sleep. It was impossible. In fact, I couldn’t fall asleep again.

At this time of the night, everything seems so quiet. Nobody talks, no noises, and distractors, just a sounding of a few car motors in the distance only. There’s absolute silence.

It’s you and your writing. Your date is just happening, people can hear the sounds of your keyboard keys and the background piece of music.

Time doesn’t matter when you on a date

I started writing around 2 am using the Podomoro technique. Suddenly I realized it was around 6 am. Darkness had gone over and the light of day appeared again. Who cares that, if you are with the right companion?

I was so happy writing every single word and sentence. Time was no part of my mind. I just wanted to express out.

The perfect antidote

Whenever tough times come up, you need something or someone to encourage you to get through it. While living it, you need to find a way to heal yourself.

I have found that when it happens the perfect antidote is writing. I proved it again this day I couldn’t sleep. I needed a way to escape that hell so I found paradise through writing. The perfect antidote to my lack of sleep.

What drives you to write really matter

If there’s one thing you could do for free for the rest of your life. What would it be?

I have asked myself this question several times at different points in my career. By doing it I wanted to find clarity and what is inside of me.

Yet, its answer is not easy as might seem since our brain will react and try to protect you. It will tell you, remember that your son, wife, family and you need to be fed to be alive, how are you thinking you will do that if you aren’t getting paid?. Great question.

The truth is the question and its answer play a huge role in the writing’s success.

So when it comes to writing what really matters is the real intentions or the why’s. What drives you? Why? Do you want to turn words into money? Do you want to make a living from it? do you want to get more followers or fame? be inspirational and helpful?.

As soon as you honestly answer those questions, you will find meaning and joy in writing.

Just write, the money will come as part of its own nature

I truly enjoy writing and in spite of sometimes, I think about the money I can earn from it, I try to not focusing on it. It’s fine and natural to have the aspiration of earning more money, even more, if you need it or you have an extreme urgency of it.

When you keep writing for fun the outcome is guaranteed. You are not thinking about anything else, it is a matter of sitting your ass down and write. You only want to find yourself and on the process, you might also help someone else out there.

Just write if you find pleasure in it, the money will come as part of its own nature.

I touched my future

The kind of person you want to become is not far away. You can touch and hug it. As someone once said, “if you can visualize it you already got it”.

while I was writing I saw myself ten years later and I asked myself, do I really want to keep writing even after 10 years? The answer was a resounding YES.

I visualized my own future under the silence of the night. I can’t describe how happy I was. The impossible turned into possible is thanks to the ability to first believe it and then learn to get to action toward it.

Writing is the story, not the ending

Despite this is not as simple as it sounds, it is the most powerful key to your success. The more you enjoy the process the faster you succeed on whatever you are trying to achieve. Not only in writing.

Enjoying the process means you need to be happy, find fulfilment, and meaning through it. And the most important part it shouldn’t hurt yourself.

The sooner you acknowledge that what really matters is the process you will start to stick to the writing habit effortlessly — on autopilot mode.

Writing is an amazing journey. It is beautiful how you can turn a piece without any sense into a powerful and meaningful message to someone else out there.

So if you can’t enjoy the writing process you are doing the wrong task. It’s so simple.

Whenever you feel angry with yourself since you are not getting the outcome you expected you forget to enjoy the process.

Postpone everything else

Come on! If you really don’t matter anything else and instead you start to write. That’s the right place and you need to stay there for the rest of your life. Anything else can wait.

Next day, I had to do a few things related to my current job I could take advantage of this amount of hours to advance a little bit but I didn’t. why? Because writing is something I will not hesitate to do it most of the tie. So anything else falls into the secondary priority.

When you really enjoy something, you will postpone and throw away the rest of the tasks you also need to work on. Anything else doesn’t matter at all. It is wasted time, it is not worth it at that time.

Final thoughts

I am sticking to a morning daily routine, part of it includes writing for at least 30 minutes. So as you can imagine, I am not a night-owl person, but this special day I was and I learned and prove again the reasons why I like to write.

I dated her (writing) at midnight and I couldn’t stop. On a dating, time doesn’t matter, you can touch the future, you can turn the impossible into possible.

If you really enjoy writing you will postpone anything else.
